BK question ,and how to clean up credit.?

I probably have a stupid question here, but i'm going to ask anyways. Now i looked at my credit, and my score is 500, and i have 3 things that are affecting me badly. 2 are paid, and one is still open.

I have 2 things that have not reached my report, but in fear they might with in the next few months because they are not happy with the payments i'm able to make them. I have added up ALL my debt, and it's 25,000$. Is that a good amount to file BK on? And if i don't choose to do the BK how long, and how can i get my credit score back up to a amount that would be good enough to buy a home with?

The Answer : Do you currently own a home and/or car? Do you make over $40k a year? In either case you may end up filing for Chapter 13. That will solve some of your credit problems, but your score will still suck for the next few years.

But what other options do you have? With 5 charge off's on your credit, and most likely a judgment or two, your credit will still be terrible.

Point all these facts out to your creditors, and if they won't work with you then file BK.
